On August 26, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a major milestone towards India and its electric vehicle future by launching the Maruti Suzuki E-vitara at the plant, Hansalpur, Gujarat

This is the e-Vitara car, the car is all electric and manufactured in India. The occasion marked a significant move towards making our nation self-sustainable in regard to clean and green technology.

The e-Vitara is a battery electric SUV which is being constructed in India. It is also the first time Maruti Suzuki will export this electric vehicle to more than 100 countries including markets in Europe and Japan.

Along with the release of the e-Vitara, the head of Suzuki globally declared that it will invest 70,000 crore in India in the next 5-6 years to increase EV and green technology production.

This was also launched in the state of Gujarat that has been a pioneer in automobile production. By launching this project India is on the forefront of electric vehicles. With the e-Vitara, carbon emission will be low, fuel economy will be realized and the environment will be saved. It will also provide new jobs to the people.


PM Modi was responding to the necessity to drive electric cars in the Indian future. He was urging Indians to use Green energy and to use Make in India. The e-Vitara shows how Indian technology is being developed and how the government is looking at the greater good- a greener and cleaner future.

On this occasion, PM Modi also inaugurated a plant to produce hybrid battery electrodes, one of the primary ingredients of EV battery-making. This plant is a joint venture between Toshiba and Denso and helps India to produce over 80 percent of battery parts in India, reducing its reliance on imports.

Introduction of the e-Vitara vehicle in Gujarat is the national pride of the nation. It promises a healthier India, cutting edge technology and a stronger India.
