 1. Nepotism (Favoritism of Star Kids) :

  • Bollywood has been accused of giving more opportunities to the children of prominent actors, producers, and directors.
  • The talented outsiders find it hard to secure a chance whereas the star kids receive repeat chances even when their movies fail.
  • This makes that there is unfair competition

2. Arrogance & ABUSE :

  • Lots of newcomers find it to be a problem on the casting couch (extortion of favors to land roles).
  • There are producers who abuse their power thus, making it very difficult to survive as an outsider producer.
  • They often work long hours, underpayment (to minor artists, dancers, technicians).

3. Party and Drug connetion  :

  • Bollywood has been associated with excessive consumption of drugs, late nights and unhealthy lifestyles.
  • Some celebrities have been found on the hook of drug scandals.
  • These stories often give a bad influence over young fans.

4. Fake Stardoms, Dirty PR Games :

  • Most of the actors rely more on PR, (public relations), false social media directives, and gossip than on actual ability.
  • Then, there are blind items (covert gossip stories) posted to bring hurts to competitors.
  • The visual depiction present in the media is usually way off in terms of reality.

5. Obsession with Being Beautiful & Fair Skin :

  • The Bollywood industry tends to invite fair skin, slim body, and ideal appearance as the ideal beauty.
  • This institutes body shaming and the lack of confidence among the common people.
  • More dark-skinned or unconventional looking actors do not become lead roles.

6. Copying & Lack of Originality :

  • Most Bollywood movies are plagiarized of Hollywood movies, South Indian movies or international movies.
  • They take no risks about new ideas, instead they resort to remakes and sequels.
  • This lessens creativity

7. Toxic Competition/ Groupism :

  • There are also the strong camps in Bollywood (big production houses).
  • When an actor makes such decisions as to join group or reject individuals, they are boycotted.
  • This kills careers of most real artists.

8. Mental Health Problems :

  • The pressure of being perfect, producing hits and trying to manage trolling can lead to depression, anxiety and even exits.
  • There is much loneliness and stress behind the glamorous life.

9. Money More than On Art :

  • They forget that cinema is made to be meaningful rather than it should only be an attempt to collect money through the box office.
  • There is also cheap comedy, item songs and such over-the-top action included just to draw hordes.
  • Good storytelling tends to be overlooked

My Opinion on Bollywood  :

  • Nepotism, exploitation, fake glamor, unhealthy competition and lack of originality exist in Bollywood on the inside, whereas it looks shiny on the outside. When I consider Bollywood, I do not find that it is an ideal place to work as a new actor. Behind all the apparent glamour, fame and success, the reality is rather different.
  • Fresh talent and struggling actors are usually treated unfairly, gang up and nepotism are also a great problem that makes it difficult to grow. The industry largely favours the star kids, insiders over providing opportunities to individuals who show talent. This can make Bollywood a competitive and even a poisonous environment to new entrants who simply like acting.
